How Is All Points Baptist Mission Different?

It is our desire that All Points Baptist Mission be a blessing and a help to local churches by assisting them in sending forth their missionaries to all regions of the world.  While many local churches have abdicated their responsibility to the Great Commission, we want to encourage a return to the Biblical model as found in the book of Acts.  Therefore, we are not interested in doing the local church’s work for it nor do we desire to usurp its authority.  While there must be certain guidelines by which to operate, we do not want to dictate to the local church or to its missionary.

We believe that the great commission was given to the church, therefore the church ought to be the sending agent.

Why should a missionary and a local church use APBM?

While any church is certainly free to send its missionaries anywhere in the world that it desires, we believe that a missionary will benefit greatly from working with the experienced people of APBM, particularly in areas of specialty.  With missionaries on every continent, APBM personnel stand ready to assist local independent Baptist churches with the task of fielding their missionaries and helping them adjust so that they may have a long and productive ministry.

In What Fields is APBM Specialized?

  1. General Missions Worldwide – APBM missionaries serve on every continent in the world.  Their main objective is the planting of local New Testament independent Baptist churches.
  2. Arctic Ministries – The North is a specialized field.  It takes some special knowledge to live there and have a successful ministry there.  Much time and expense will be saved by working with knowledgeable APBM people who have served in the far North.
  3. Military Chaplain Ministries – CBC/APBM is the only independent Baptist local church Ecclesiastical Endorser for US Military Chaplains in existence today.

How are missionaries approved?

Anyone desiring to serve with APBM as a missionary should contact the mission office to ask for a pre-application, or download a pre-application from this website. This will start the process that will enable our directors to properly consider the qualifications of the applicant. Approval will be granted only to the applicant who is a member of an independent Baptist church. This church must not only agree to function as the sending church, but must do so enthusiastically. The missionary must be commissioned by his local church and be primarily accountable to his local church. APBM claims no authority to discipline a missionary, but will advise the local church should, in in the opinion of the APBM directors, the need for discipline arise.

How will APBM assist a missionary?

Our directors and personnel stand ready to offer advice and assistance in the following areas: visiting a mission field prior to deputation; preparation of a slide or video presentation; relationships between missionary and pastors; writing prayer letters; maintaining financial support over the years; how to survive culture shock; how to evangelize in a cross-cultural setting; conducting a ministry on the mission field; how to stay on the field long enough to see a ministry come to full autonomy; and many more helpful ideas to enhance a ministry. Also, we purpose to assist our missionaries, as God provides and directs, with encouragement while on the field.

How is support raised?

When a missionary is approved for service with APBM, he will be expected to enter his deputation ministry full time as soon as possible. The missionary will be responsible for raising the funds necessary to conduct this initial phase of his ministry as well as subsequent phases. APBM assumes no obligation concerning the actual raising of funds for the missionary or his ministry, but will supply the missionary with access to our detailed online database of churches that can be contacted for meetings.  APBM will clear funds through Calvary Baptist Church, New Philadelphia, Ohio.
